Maui, HI: Krishna Das & Friends Thanksgiving Sunday Maui Satsang / Kirtan
Sunday, Dec 1, 2024 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm HST
Come join us for this annual spirit filled gathering in the Aloha Pavilion at the Nāpili Kai Beach Resort for an afternoon where Aloha and Bhakti reside together as music, movement, meditation, chanting and prayer.
Krishna Das will be joined by his band:
Arjun – Tabla / Percussion
Nina Rao – Finger Cymbals , Response Vocal
David Nichtern – Rhythm Guitar
Genevieve Walker – Violin
Mark Gorman – Bass
This year’s gathering will continue to serve as a Food Drive for the Maui Food Bank , as it has since 2006 when Ram Dass initiated the Thanksgiving Sunday Maui Satsang / Kirtan program at the then Studio Maui (2006 -2011), then moved the program to the Historic Makawao Union Church (2012 – 2018) and finally the Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s Castle Theater in 2019. The program resumed after the Pandemic in it’s new home at the Napili Kai Beach Resort’s Aloha Pavilion, 2021 to current 2024.
Participants are encouraged to bring their generous organic boxed or canned food donations that are collected in the Maui Food Bank Food Bins and picked up the next day.
Cold, refreshing Maui Kombucha served on tap in “bring your own mason jars” or provided cups for cash donations that go to the Maui Food Bank as well. The cups are “bottomless” and your generous donations to the Maui Food Bank are greatly appreciated.
Hanuman Maui and Dassi’s Bhaktique will be on hand to share her latest Bhakti goods, Krishna Das published works and Be Here Now Wearables just in time for the gift giving Holiday Season. All sales from Dassi’s Bhaktique go to support her and Hanuman Maui’s mission of perpetuating Ram Dass’ Maui Legacy and their community services.
We wish to express our sincere gratitude and gratefulness to our Sponsor – Napili Kai Beach Resort and Supporters – The Maui Food Bank , Maui Kombucha and Hanuman Maui who have enabled this gathering to continue to flourish over the years.
